The Elaphite islands are a group of islands western of Dubrovnik. They were named after the deer that once lived on them (Greek word Elaphos = deer). The three largest Elaphite islands, included in this excursion are: Koločep also known as Klamota, Lopud and Šipan. A professional skipper will be waiting on the boat.
Koločep
Koločep is the island that is the closest to the town of Dubrovnik. Vicinity of the town, subtropical vegetation, fresh sea air, vast pine forests, olive trees and sandy beaches are the reasons why Koločep is a very frequently visited island. During the hot summer months you will see plenty of tourists in the sea by the waterfront and on the long sandy beach that stretches along the whole length of the port. In summer the island of Koločep, like all the other islands, lives in a completely different, more vivid rhythm. The harmony of coexistence of local residents and tourist visitors on such a small island is formed every year all over again.
Lopud
Lopud is one of the most attractive islands of the region in terms of tourism, given its size and diversity. The Lopud port is a place where ships dock, pouring a river of tourists to the coast in search for their place in the sun. Some people get stuck at the first available place on a sandy beach by the port, while the others are willing to cross a few miles to get to the beautiful, sunny, long and sandy beach Šunj. The boats moored on both sides of the island enjoy the view of the coast, the island’s mountains, churches and bell towers. The green oasis of the island is the Park of the family Đorđić Mayneri, with a long and wide promenade surrounded by the plants from all over the world. The park also features a fountain, while the benches protected by the treetops offer shade and rest to every tired traveler. Sunbeams can hardly get through the treetops, giving the park an ideal temperature even in the hottest summer days.
